Can’t recall any sequel that further develops ALL the previous characters this well – major or supporting, and bravely introduces not one but TWO groups of new characters. And all of them well crafted! Take my hats off Toy Story 3 and all the Pixarians. Amazing storytelling and scriptwriting… co-scriptwriter is Michael Arndt, he who wrote Little Miss Sunshine! (no wonder the daycare is named “Sunnyside”.)
And speaking of sunshine, there are two more endearing new characters introduced to the world. In that short film Day and Night screened before the feature. That jaw-dropping drop-dead grogeous six-minutes short that tells the story of two very different beings embracing each other’s uniqueness and accepting each other’s differences. So unlike anything Pixar has done. So unlike anything anyone has done! This. is. in. a. league. of. its. own.
Once again, Pixar took the bar, and raised it to infinity….
